The modern healthcare industry is highly diverse and versatile. Now, this profession is no longer limited to traditional practices in hospitals or doctors’ offices. There is a massive eruption of tons of non-doctor roles in this industry. It opens new horizons for aspiring individuals to enter this industry with a passion for serving humanity and improving life quality.

There can be multiple aspects that excite people to consider a healthcare career. The healthcare profession is famous for its prestigious, rewarding, and exciting status around the globe. Along with potential financial support, a career in healthcare offers you an all-time chance to grow. Moreover, you also get to work in a diverse environment with various opportunities welcoming you at every step. This profession will persist until the last man on the globe. So, no doubt, a career in the healthcare profession is all in one hit.

Dentistry deals with oral health and hygiene. This dynamic healthcare profession opens the doors of a bright future both in terms of wealth and reputation. With the increase in awareness of dental health, the scope and demand for dentists is increasing. It is a well-known fact that oral health has severe impacts on overall systemic health. Therefore, people are more aware of the importance of regular dental check-ups.

Dentists work in hospitals and clinics and are among one of the most highly paid medical professionals. To start practicing as a dentist, you need to get a dentistry degree from an accredited dental school. Dental schools usually have an entrance exam that encompasses

  • Academic record
  • A written test
  • Emergency handling ability
  • Co-curricular activities
  • Hand to eye coordination examination

In the US, the average national annual salary of a dentist is $214070.

Human Development and Family Studies (HDFS)

Human Development and Family Studies (HDFS) deals with physical, emotional aspects and the social development of people within society and family. HDFS offers a multidimensional approach to individual development across the whole lifespan. The best part about HDFS is that it finds its application in all the fields of life. So, even if you do not want to enter human service, you can still improve your skillset through it.

Students in HDFS learn about the child and adolescent development, biological aspects of human development, family studies, intervention research, adult development, aging, and developmental research methods. To practice this, you need to have a graduation degree in HDFS or complete an internship or practicum. The best way to achieve this goal is to get a human development and family studies online degree and start practicing as you study. It will help you avoid spending long hours at university. In this way, you will not have to go for a postgraduation internship to qualify for the degree. Each student of HDFS can select among one of the six concentrations.

Pharmacist

Pharmacist deals with the safe use and administration of drugs. Pharmacists are known as “Drug Lords.” They work in all the aspects of the medicines to get the maximum benefit from them. A pharmacist works particularly in four types of settings:

  1. Community: In the community, pharmacists dispense and compound all kinds of prescription medicines, including narcotics.   4. Research and development: Pharmacist works to produce new and better drugs for the treatment of diseases.

To practice as a licensed pharmacist, you need to have a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and pass the state licensing exam. In the US, pharmacist gets to earn more than $157,950 per year.

Physical Therapist

Physical therapists work with patients who are struggling with pain, restricting their range of motion. Physical therapists have high salaries throughout the world due to their critical role in the rehabilitation and recovery of individuals after surgery. They also create treatment plans and work with the individuals who need to recover from a partial to complete loss of function of some skeletal muscle.

The employment rate of a physical therapist is expected to grow by 30% by 2026. The aging baby boom generation has become the primary source of increasing the demand for physical therapists worldwide. These folks have the maximum risk of cardiovascular diseases though they stay active in later decades of life. Therefore they need a physical therapist to help them avoid life-threatening conditions. Moreover, the graph of the people suffering from chronic diseases such as obesity, diabetes is always increasing with every passing day, which emphasizes the physical therapist’s role. To practice as a physical therapist, you need to have a doctorate in physiotherapy.

An average national salary of a physical therapist is $104,210 in the US.

Biomedical Engineer

Biomedical engineers are responsible for analyzing medical problems in the light of engineering. In this way, they come forward with smart strategies and designs to avoid such issues in the future. It would be no exaggeration to say that biomedical engineering is the future of the healthcare profession. They are biomedical engineers who let the technology seep into the healthcare industry to digitalize every possible step from diagnosis to surgery. Their goal is o decrease the chance of error and time lag and improves patient care quality with increased sophistication. For this purpose, biomedical engineers come forward with advancements in devices, equipment, software, and computer systems.

Biomedical engineering is a highly complex field that requires a great novelty and a passion for bringing change. With the increase in the use of technology, the scope of biomedical engineering will also increase. Nowadays, in the US, a biomedical engineer gets to earn $118,020 per year. To practice as a biomedical engineer, you need to have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering.
