The Cancer Prevention Guide: Here are the Commandments you should follow

Even though science has made a lot of progress over the years, but cancer continues to spread and prevail. Keeping in mind that it is not a spreadable contagious disease. But from children to adults in the UK alone 360,000 are diagnosed with cancer each day.

With all the unnatural things around us especially the pollution, the food with added preservatives and what not play a role in it. The thing is that if you have ever heard the quote that prevention is better than a cure. There are preventive measures for cancer too.

These preventive measures are backed by science and should be followed by everyone.

Healthy weight is the first step towards Cancer Prevention:

Maintain a healthy weight is a hard task. It is really easy to say that one should lose weight but the first thing one should do when they are overweight. They should not gain any more weight. The trick to keeping your weight constant is to eat healthily and in a moderate way. Improving your overall health will help you maintain your weight.

Once you feel like you can take it one step further then you should start focusing on losing your weight. Naturally slim people should also adopt a healthy diet and maintain their healthy weight.

Since cancer affects children as well healthy weight should be promoted among children and their screen time should be limited and their snacks should be healthy should be given to them.

Smoking is the Enemy of Your Family:

Not just active smoking passive smoking is also known to have a lot of side effects and all these effects may lead to serious conditions. Active smokers are at risk of getting cancer more than normal people do. Tobacco is the single biggest cause of lung cancer. Lung cancer takes thousands of lives each year when in fact it can be prevented by quitting cigarette and other tobacco products. If you care about your health and the health of those who are around you while you are smoking, you should quit it before it affects one of you.

Healthy Diet is Very Important:

When it comes to cancer it is known that all the products that are filled with preservatives, red meat, processed meat, and treated chicken are the reason due to which cancer is spreading. If you wish to prevent yourself from this deadly disease you should start a healthy diet. Include more fruits, vegetables, pulses, fish and organic products in your routine. Do it for yourself and your family. You are what you eat. If you will eat healthily you will live a long healthy life. Not only a healthy diet can reduce the risk of cancer it can also reduce the risk of heart disease.

When practicing a healthy diet, you should know that alcohol is not healthy at all and you should avoid it too.

Staying Active is Equally Important:

Thirty-minute each day should be allotted to physical activity each day and the more time you spend exercising the better. A healthy active lifestyle is very important some people who are in their nineties and have no signs of any fatal disease and that is because most of them stay active. People who live in villages and do farming are healthy because they are very active.

Those who stay active they stay healthy it has been proven by the Irish cancer society that exercising can reduce the risk of cancer. They also advise you to plan fun active activities with their so that they can stay active. Even injury doctor recommends staying active and doing mild prescribed exercise.

Sunscreen is Very Important to prevent skin Cancer:

Sunscreen is your best friend to protect yourself from UV rays. In the long run, you will be protecting yourself from the skin. You should be using at least SPF 30 and you should reapply it at least twice a day. The lighter your skin tone is the more sunscreen you should be using.

If you are going to the beach you should apply sunscreen all over your body or to the body parts that are exposed. It is best to avoid the sun between 11 AM to 3 PM in the noon. Because at that time the intensity of the sun and the rays are a lot higher can affect you more. You should especially do this if you are not wearing sunscreen. Moreover, it is also important to use physical or mineral sunscreen instead of chemical sunscreen.

Get Yourself Tested every Year:

This is by far the biggest preventive measure you can take. You should get yourself check every year and have a full body check-up so that the test can warn you if anything is wrong. It is extremely helpful to catch cancer or any other disease at an early age.

Women need to get themselves tested for breast cancer every year and get a pap smear every year just so that they know they are safe and if anything is wrong it can be treated before it becomes worse. Any lumps in the breast should be tested immediately. Moreover, breastfeeding reduces the risk of cancer.

For men, it is really important to get themselves checked for prostate cancer. One must do this every year because with yearly check-up your doctor can keep track of your health.

Vaccinate Your Kids:

Nearly one-fifth of all the cancers in the world starts with an infectious disease. People normally don’t think virus and bacteria can cause cancer, but the truth is they can and the best way to prevent them is to get your child vaccinated time to time for all major infectious disease.

There you have it, folks, the things you should be doing to prevent cancer. The important thing is to remember that prevention is better than cure and instead of suffering from such a terrible disease you should take some measure to prevent it beforehand.
