Whether you’re just starting your collection or you’re looking to fill in the last couple of spots on your Presidential roster, collecting autographs for the US Presidents can be a rewarding hobby. What is better than being able to share your collection of autographs and memorabilia with your friends, sharing stories about the history of each item and how you added it to your collection?
So how can you find presidential autographs for sale?
Presidential Autographs for Sale
Thankfully you no longer have to trail around antique and collectible shops and sit around at auctions to build your collection of memorabilia. The advent of online shopping and search means your search field has opened up massively and you should be able to locate the autographs and memorabilia you require for your growing collection. While Ebay and other online auction sites can turn up the occasional gem, the items are few and far between and search criteria doesn’t allow you to hone in on the exact items you want.
So thankfully there are now some online collectors websites available where you can buy at cost, or by auction the items you want. Also many of them recognise the important of authentication so provide certifications or authenticity having carried out the authentication process themselves to ensure quality of their stock. Some even provide photographs of the autograph or memorabilia item being collected to add further reassurance. These websites have the bargaining power to buy whole collections from individuals or at auction, which can then be broken down and sold off separately to smaller collectors, opening up great opportunities if you only want one or two items.
If you’re a collector of Presidential autographs, finding an original for some of the older Presidents can be particularly difficult. One of the websites we checked out “Piece of the Past” currently has autographs from Presidents such as James Polk, William McKinley, Calvin Coolidge, Benjamin Harrison, Theodore Roosevelt, Harry Truman, John Tyler, Franklin Pierce, James Buchanan, Gerald Ford, James Garfield, Richard Nixon, John F Kennedy, William Taft, Herbert Hoover, Barack Obama, Donald Trump, Ronald Reagan and Abraham Lincoln. Some of these are signed photographs, while others are stamp franks accompanied by signatures.
One of the most interesting items we found was a United States Senate Memorandum dated December 20th 1955 signed by John F Kennedy himself when he was a Senator. When he was President most signatures were done by Autopen or were Secretarial. Priced at $1999.99 this is an exciting addition to any collection and perhaps a good investment for the future.
In addition to Presidential autographs some sites also carry Vice President autographs, which might add another layer to your Presidential collection that you’d not considered before. Other famous autographs available also include First Ladies, Historical Figures, Musicians, Actors and Sports People. Some memorabilia is also available including musical instruments, props, wardrobe items and documents. Whether your interest is in a particular era, a particular city or state, or those individuals you have an affinity with, there is plenty to be collected.
